Worship at ECM

At the very center of what we do at ECM is worship. We believe God created us to be in love with God and with one another, and one of the primary ways we express that love is through prayer, music, and fellowship during worship each week.

Sunday Night Sanctus
Every Sunday night at 5:30 p.m. we gather in the chapel for Sunday Night Sanctus, our weekly time of worship. "Sanctus" (pronounced SONK-toos) means "holy," and that's exactly what this time is intended to be. It's your weekly chance to stop, catch your breath, and connect with God before another hectic school week begins.

    Q. How do you worship?
    A. Our worship is very laid back, so come as you are. On the first Sunday of every month, we have a Communion service where we gather, read and reflect on the Scriptures, say prayers, sing songs, and share in the bread and wine that symbolize to us Christ's love and sacrifice for us. This is just about the most ancient way of Christian worship, so when we share in the Eucharist together, we are joining our hearts and voices with Christians not only throughout the world, but also throughout history.
On the other Sundays of the month we have a simple service of song and prayer where you can find your center and plug into the presence of God. Candles, music, and evening prayers set the tone for worship.
You can find out more about our worship on our episco-what? page.

    Q. What should I know before I come?
    A. Episcopalians have a saying: "All may; some should; none must." Know that when you come to worship with us, you are free to participate as much or as little as you feel led. Some jump right in, participating in our discussions, singing loudly and off key, and joining in the prayers. Others hold back a little until they have a better handle on what's going on. Either way is fine; just know that you have a place at our table.
